About Us
Wekume is more than just a health app; it’s a holistic resource for students’ well-being and personal growth. Our platform addresses multiple challenges faced by students in Uganda:
Vision: We envision a Uganda—and a world—where every student, regardless of background, can access trusted health resources, make informed decisions, and build a healthy, empowered, and purpose-driven future without fear, shame, or silence.
Mission: To equip Uganda’s university students with the tools, knowledge, and access they need to lead the healthiest, most empowered generation in the developing world—free from preventable SRH challenges.
Purpose: To empower every university student in Uganda with the knowledge, tools, and access to take control of their sexual and reproductive health and rights—starting with the Wekume app.

Mission Statement
Wekume is a Luganda word meaning “protect yourself”. We empower Uganda’s young people—university students—to break free from the devastating effects of sexual and reproductive health stigma. Through a safe, digital ecosystem, direct community engagement, and compassionate support, we provide young people with the tools, knowledge, and courage they need to protect their health, complete their education, and build strong futures. Rooted in empathy, innovation, and collaboration, Wekume is a movement to protect potential and transform lives.
