We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating a platform that caters to the unique needs of all students, fostering a sense of belonging and respect.

2. Empowerment

At Wekume, we empower students to take control of their reproductive health and personal growth. Through accessible information, tools, and support, we help students build confidence in making informed health choices and navigating their academic and career aspirations. Our platform encourages self-reliance and proactive decision-making.

3. Compassion and Understanding

We recognize the importance of empathy in addressing sensitive health issues. Our SafeChat feature, counseling services, and peer support initiatives are designed to provide students with a compassionate and non-judgmental space. We prioritize listening, understanding, and supporting each individual’s unique needs.

4. Innovation and Accessibility

Wekume harnesses technology to ensure that reproductive health services and resources are accessible to all students. Our user-friendly app and practical features, like QuickTest and Health Tips, make it easier for students to access information and services on their terms. We continuously evolve to meet the changing needs of students.

Wekume is committed to fostering a strong sense of community and collaboration. Through initiatives like exchange programs and internship resources, we encourage students to connect, learn, and grow together. Our partnerships with health organizations and universities enable us to deliver impactful services and expand our reach.

Why We Exist?

Ugandan university students face unique social and environmental challenges, particularly around reproductive health. Many lack access to safe and reliable health resources, and stigma often prevents open conversations. In addition, students from minority groups, including refugees, are especially vulnerable and underserved. Wekume addresses these issues by offering an inclusive, digital platform that simplifies access to information, support, and resources tailored to students’ needs.

Our next big dreams:

Business Development and Entrepreneurship Support: Wekume also aims to be an incubator for student entrepreneurs by providing mentorship, workshops, and fundraising resources to help young people develop business ideas, pilot projects, and build sustainable enterprises.

Exchange Programs and Internships: We dream of facilitating exchange programs within Uganda, giving students the opportunity to explore different regions, gain diverse perspectives, and grow personally. Additionally, we intend to connect students with internship and volunteering opportunities, helping them gain valuable work experience and practical skills.

Inclusivity and Support for Minority Groups: Wekume is committed to inclusivity, ensuring our resources are accessible to marginalized student groups, such as refugees. Our platform tailors services to support these groups, providing a safe, inclusive space for everyone.

Our Impact

“Wekume is already making a difference in the lives of students across Uganda. By connecting young people to essential resources and enabling them to make informed decisions, we aim to reduce rates of reproductive health issues, increase access to health supplies, and encourage entrepreneurship among students.
